In his weekly column, PopCon Director, Mark Littlewood, takes a look at the results of our latest opinion panel survey.
I hope you're enjoying what's left of the summer and are looking forward to the political season getting underway again.
This week, I wanted to share with you the results of our recent PopCon opinion panel survey. I would like to thank those supporters who are giving up their time to be on the panel.
The views and opinions expressed have been of great interest to the PopCon team, but - of course - our real aim is to ensure members' voices are heard at the top of the party and in the wider debate.
To that end, we have now shared an omnibus of the two surveys thus far with the six leadership teams, the chairman of the party, the chairman of the 1922 committee and all other Conservative MPs.
Our second survey has also excited considerable media interest and you can see examples of the coverage here and here. I also explained the results of the survey to Patrick Christys on GB News on Wednesday evening.
If you are already a PopCon supporter, you will have already received a comprehensive omnibus report on both surveys but you can read a summary of survey 2 results via our press release here. (You can also see results from survey 1 here).
If there's one statistic that did jump out to me from our second survey it's that so many respondents lack confidence that the MPs will put forward the right two candidates to the membership. I think this underscores the need to reconstruct the rules and structures of the Conservative Party to ensure a greater role for the grassroots.
If you are not a registered PopCon supporter, what’s stopping you? You will receive a weekly bulletin, and all our supporters are invited to join our opinion panel so we can continue to send your views directly to the top of the Conservative Party. Click here to join us.
I am determined to ensure the views of Conservative Party members are heard and that together we can make a real difference as we rebuild the party.
Keep the faith and keep the flag of freedom flying.
