MARK LITTLEWOOD: VERY HAPPY TO HAVE FORMER PRIME MINISTER AT POPCON LAUNCH

Times Radio: 6th February 2024: Mark Littlewood is interviewed about the launch of PopCon

On the morning of the launch of PopCon, Mark Littlewood appeared on Times Radio breakfast programme to talk about the new movment and launch later that morning.

The Times Radio presenter was especially interested in the personalities attending (or not attending) the launch.

Of particular note was the presenter question to our PopCon Director about former Prime Minister, Liz Truss, speaking at the launch. She said "You are platforming her, so I don't know how comfortable that is for for everyone" Mark Littlewood responded by saying "Well I don't know how comfortable it is for you, but it's perfectly comfortable for me, I'm very happy to have a former Primer Minister on my panel. She agrees, I think, with the vision PopCon's have. She is not the leader of it, I'm the Director of it. I think the lessons we can draw from her very short time in office are important lessons for conservatives who want to change Britain.... I'm very glad she's speaking, but we are not about the popularity or unpopularity of individuals. We genuinely are about the ideas and want to influence what goes into party manifestos."

[NewsDesk says: These media types really are obsessed with political personalities aren't they? Well done Mark for doing a sterling job on trying to get the conversation back onto policies which is what really matters surely?]
