PopConversations is a series of online conversations with leading figures who are shaping UK conservative thinking.

On Tuesday, 6th May at 7pm, we are delighted to be hosting former Conservative Home Secretary, The Rt Hon. Suella Braverman KC MP.

A passionate long-term campaigner for leaving the EU, Suella led the eurosceptic group of Conservative MPs in the European Research Group, Suella stayed true to her principles as a so-called Spartan, refusing to back Theresa May's EU deal.As a strong proponent of the Rwanda deal, opponent of net zero targets and anti-woke campaigner, Suella has become a firm favourite with the grassroots of the Conservative Party.

Mark will talk to Suella about the difficulties ministers face in achieving change in government, the civil service, quangos, judiciary and NGOs that try to block or distort legislation, and how these issues can be overcome. They will discuss the future of the Conservative Party, the priorities Kemi needs to pursue and what it is like living in a mixed marriage since her husband joined Reform. Is Suella tempted to join him? With her experience at the very heart of government, her first hand knowledge of undemocratic roadblocks on legislation and insights into the mindset of the Conservative Parliamentary Party since its losses at the 2024 general election, we have no doubt this will be an unmissable event.
