PopConversations is a series of online conversations with leading figures who are shaping UK conservative thinking.
On Thursday 30th October at 7pm, join Mark Littlewood, Director of Popular Conservatism, and Lord (Matthew) Elliott of Mickle Fell, one of the UK’s foremost public policy thinkers and campaigners.
Since founding the TaxPayers’ Alliance in 2004, Matthew went on to set up Big Brother Watch and Business for Britain before becoming Campaign Director for the NO2AV campaign in 2011 and Chief Executive of Vote Leave in 2016, leading both the successful UK-wide referendums of the 21st century. More recently he started the Jobs Foundation, championing business as a force for good and became a Conservative Peer in 2024.
Mark will ask Matthew about his insights from his decades of campaigning, offering his vision for reviving conservatism and uniting the right. He will also discuss his new book, Prosperity Through Growth: Boosting Living Standards in an Age of Autocracy & AI. The book proposes a “24/7 Growth Plan” using tax cuts and deregulation to reverse the UK’s economic stagnation.
