FARAGE PLOTS THATCHER-STYLE REVOLUTION FROM DAY ONE IN POWER

Telegraph: 6th September 2025: Telegraph reports on Reform UK leader's plans which sound very much like the types of changes PopCon has been calling for since February 2024

So what, beyond the immediate pressing policy prescriptions on immigration, would that look like?

The institutions governing economic policy would be ripped up. Mr Farage wants the Office for Budget Responsibility, the independent economic forecaster, to be abolished.

He would also reverse some of the reforms of recent decades to the Bank of England, putting all banking and financial regulation back in the hands of the governor and his team.

That means that the Financial Conduct Authority, the current regulator for the sector, would be gone too. Mr Farage, a former commodities trader, longs for the old regulatory system..."
