POPCONVERSATION with LIZ TRUSS

7TH MAY 2024 : 6PM : ONLINE

REGISTRATION OPEN

REGISTER HERE to join PopCon Director, Mark Littlewood and former Prime Minister, The Rt Hon Liz Truss MP, for a discussion about the past, present, and future of the Conservative Party - what lessons she learned from her time in office; what her new book tells us about where conservatism is today; and what policies the party should consider as a priority for its next manifesto.

Liz is a British politician who entered Parliament in 2010 and served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party from September to October 2022. On her journey to No.10 Liz held several notable positions including: Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice (the first woman to serve as lord chancellor in the office's thousand-year history); Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade; and Foreign Secretary.

Liz's new book Ten Years to Save the West: Lessons from the only conservative in the room is released on April 16th 2024 in which she argues that the rise of authoritarianism around the world and the adoption of fashionable ideas propagated by the global left give us barely a decade to preserve the economic and cultural freedom and institutions that the West holds so dear. She says I want to provide a call to action for fellow conservatives who believe in our nation and our way of life and who share my frustration at what has been going wrong with our politics and governance. I want others to heed the warnings of what I saw happening and learn the lessons of the battle I lost.

This online event occurs after the book is released - providing PopCon supporters with the opportunity to question her on its contents as well as debate the current health of the Conservative Party and what policies could or should appear in the Conservative manifesto.
