MARK LITTLEWOOD: THIS IS THE WORST CASE OF BBC BIAS I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFETIME

PopCon Director blasts BBC as news breaks of the corporation's flagship current affairs programme doctoring footage

Telegraph: 3rd November 2025: The newspaper reveals internal BBC document alleging that the corporation 'spliced' footage in Panorama programme to make it seem as if US president Trump was encouraging the Capitol riot

On Monday [3rd November] an internal BBC document came to light via the Telegraph which alleges that BBC Panorama knowingly and deliberately made the US president “‘say’ things [Trump] never actually said” by splicing together footage from the start of his speech with something he said nearly an hour later. The result was to make it appear that he was calling for violence immediately prior to the 2021 Capitol Hill riots. [watch this 5 minute video showing which clips were spliced together.]

One of the BBC's own advisors [a member of the BBC Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee] raised their  concerns about the programme and other matters via a detailled memo to the BBC Executive stating that the effect of the doctoring of the footage was to 'materially mislead viewers'.  Those concerns were all dismissed however.

PopCon Director, Mark Littlewood, was one of the first commentators on air to hear of and provide reaction to the breaking story. He was unequivocal about how serious he believed these allegations to be.

Littlewood said "This is the worst case of BBC bias, combined with the complete inability to correct that bias, that I have ever seen in my lifetime."
